Claim your profile
If you're on a board, the profile is already yours. Claiming it lets you edit your bio and links, pick your sub-category, and get the ✓ mark. It costs nothing and never will.
How we know it's really you
We give you a one-time code. You paste it into your YouTube channel description, we read it back through the YouTube API, and only the person who can edit that channel can pass. No passwords, no Google permissions, nothing to install. Delete the code afterwards.
Where the code goes
- Open YouTube Studio. In the left menu click Customization, then the Profile tab.
- Scroll down to the Description box. Click at the very end of what's already there, press Enter for a new line, and paste the code.
- Click Publish in the top-right corner.
- Come back here and hit verify. If it says "not found yet," give YouTube a minute and try again.
Only the Description box works. Links and Contact info aren't read by the API. Delete the code after you're verified.
